The name of the group "Starfucker" turned out to be too hot for Loyola Marymount University.
The Catholic university canceled the electronic pop group's planned appearance at the annual campus event "Derby Dance" on March 23.

LMU Threat: Email Warned Of 'Virgina Tech Style' Shooting
Students are being asked to watch for suspicious activity after police at Loyola Marymount University received an email threat last Thursday about a "Virginia Tech style" mass shooting on the campus, reports KTLA.
School operations are proceeding as usual, however the university is taking the threat seriously, alerting students and faculty and adding extra LAPD patrols on campus.
Man Dressed as UPS Robs, Attacks 90-Year-Old in Westchester
Last week Monday, a man in his early twenties dressed like he worked for UPS knocked the door of a 90-year-old Westchester woman saying he had a delivery. When she opened the door, he forced himself in demanding money, according to the LAPD. At some point during the incident police say that he kicked and chocked her before leaving the home on the 9000 block of Chase Avenue, near Loyola Marymount University, with some cash. He is described as a male Hispanic, 22-23 years old, black hair, brown eyes, 6 feet 1 inch tall and 180 pounds. With off campus partying exasperating Westchester neighbors and garnering the attention of the local news, Loyola Marymount officials have come out with some new "party protocol," as the school's paper puts it. Off-campus students will not only have to register their address, but will be required do an online orientation to learn about city ordinances. This week at a forum for students to ask police and city attorneys questions, the LAPD gave the low-down on how responding officers are allowed to deal with parties "When responding to any party, officers have the discretion to do any of the following: warn and disperse the crowd, cite the responsible party giver for Disturbing the Peace and/or noise violations, file a Disturbing the Peace report with no arrest or citation given or physically arrest and then book the individual at Pacific Division."
