Over the past few years, Michele Berc has gone out of her way to create and curate the coolest art show gathering in LA, Create:Fixate. This month's gathering, an all photography edition of the "Optical Lounge and Audio Lab" located in Downtown on the mezzanine of the Spring Arts Tower, was packed full of a diverse crowd of urban hipsters, art enthusiasts and an assortment of beautiful people. Jason Elias, contributing editor of American Photo, guest curated this month's Create:Fixate and brought a rich and varied ensemble of photographic images to the gala.

Tonight at the Standard (Hollywood), you can support The Displacements project all while enjoying good music and some fine alcoholic beverages. Displacements and Suba Ude both are working with displaced peoples still living in the post-tsunami destruction of Sri Lanka. This project and benefit is specifically focused on Sri Lankan youth programs. KCRW's Liza Richardson and The Postal Services' Jimmy Tamborello (also of LA's own dublab.com) will be on the decks spinning records while a silent auction featuring some very nice goodies will be going on. Entry is $20 and the party runs from 8 PM to 2 AM.
