TV Junkie: Jon Rains on Kate's Parade; NBC to Comcast? UPDATED: Pam Beesly's Wedding Vlog

So the word was that Jon Gosselin was kicked off of "Jon & Kate Plus 8" making it "Kate Plus 8" which really would have been 1/2 a show. Now Jon has retaliated and has shut down the show's production via a cease and desist order. So now there'll be a battle between parental rights and TV network contract lawyers. Could be interesting but it seems unlikely anyone will come out smelling like roses in this mess. --- Is GE finally going to get out of the TV business? Rumor has it that Comcast is in talks to acquire all or some of NBC Universal. Hopefully this will put an end to the Lenofication of TV and will restore more scripted shows (we can dream).

Gay Unions Don't Count When it's 'all about the numbers'

The country is preparing for the 2010 Census, and already same-sex married couples are feeling left out. Respondents will not be asked about their sexual orientation, and households with same-sex couples married by law must be defined as they were in 2000: as "unmarried partners," reports the Press-Telegram.

Peaceful Prop 8 Protest March Tomorrow in East L.A.

A peaceful protest march aimed at expressing opposition to the passage of Prop 8 is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon in East Los Angeles. The "Marcha Somos Familia: We are Family" event has been organized by Lambda Legal, and will begin at 10 a.m. at the corner of N. Soto St. and E. Cesar Chavez Ave in the city of Los Angeles and will stop 2.6 miles way at Belvedere Park in unincorporated East Los Angeles. According to their press release, the march's "purpose is not only to publicly express [their] disapproval of all forms of constitutional discrimination but to encourage dialogue and love among the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and heterosexual friends and family members. The march is a first for the predominantly Latino community living in the East Los Angeles area."

Nancy Sutley, the Deputy Mayor for Energy and Environment for the City of Los Angeles, is expected to be appointed by President-elect Barack Obama to head the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

The Log Cabin Republicans rolled out a new website last Friday called Republicans Against 8 (it should be noted that it's still in its early stages of development). Proposition 8, which will appear on this November's ballot, seeks to eliminate same sex marriages in California, which have been legal since June. A statement from the group said their "message to California Republican voters is simple: 'Opposing Proposition 8 is the conservative thing to do.'"

Is this a redeeming quality of McDonald's? While they may be banned from opening new stores in South LA, there is also a right-wing group boycotting the fast food franchise. The same group is working on getting troops to vote to ban gay marriage on the November ballot as well. McDonald's donated $20,000 to the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) and the The American Family Association (AFA) has chosen to make a big deal about it. The donation gained the company membership with the NGLCC and a seat on the groups board of directors.

Thousands poured onto West Hollywood and Los Angeles streets this weekend for LA Pride. From the parade to the two Dyke Marches (photos forthcoming), there was much to celebrate as next week is the beginning of recognized same-sex marriage in California.

The Red Sox has permeated nearly every facet of Bostonist's lives. When they're not live-blogging the games, waxing poetic about the games, thanking Curt Schilling for his splendid work, or telling Dane Cook to watch his hair, they're watching certain presidential candidates hop on the Red Sox bandwagon (sorry, Gothamist). The Sox are so branded on the local brain that people are using the Series to spice up their sex lives. Speaking of spice, Bostonist is really sick of that taco promo. And, while they're proud of John Williams, Bostonist is still trying to figure out Williams' "Very Special Arrangement" of the "Star Spangled Banner."

Most Gay and Lesbian literature uses the initials LGBT to describe the community. It stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender. But the bisexual part doesn't usually get a lot of attention. MTV's new dating show, A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, has made bisexuality public. I normally would not have watched a show with some random Myspace chick, but this set-up, with straight guys and lesbians duking it out for the same woman, was irresistible. At the end of the first episode, when Tila outs herself to both parties, there is a distinctly different reaction from the men and the women - or am I projecting? Whereas the men clearly were shocked and amazed, the women seemed betrayed.

Last weekend, I was at a daytime event at the Eagle (formerly The Gauntlet II). As the night wore on, the regulars started showing up - the leatherboys. Someone asked, "Why is there so much security in here?" I overheard one of these guys saying, "So I went in there to buy my Dr. Pepper, like I always do, because that's where I get my Dr. Pepper, but this time I'm wearing my SWAT uniform,...

I couldn't stay for every performance, but enjoyed the onstage and offstage antics. Photos after the jump....

Worth Repeating has a story about how two gay dudes from West Hollywood got all uppity about a Fatburger poster. Here is an email from one of the gay dudes describing the events:When West Hollywood-based spouses and screenwriting team David A. Lee and Daniel Vaillancourt walked by their neighborhood Fatburger restaurant on Sunday January 14, 2007, they were shocked to see a poster introducing the company's new Baby Fat Deal in the window. Its tag...
