Tonight Eagle Rock-bred indie rock outfit Princeton (LAist Interview) will be performing at Spaceland. Red Arrow Messenger are poised to take on the third night of their free residency at the Bootleg Theater. And, lastly, local electro-infused indie pop act Letting Up Despite Great Faults will be gracing the Silver Lake Lounge. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echo to catch local alternative rockers the Useless Keys. LAist favorites, Santa Ana-based indie rockers Aushua and We Barbarians are slated to kick things off.
Tonight In Rock: Princeton, Red Arrow Messenger, Useless Keys, Letting Up Despite Great Faults
Tonight In Rock: The Soft Pack, Bowerbirds, Nico Stai, Letting Up Despite Great Faults
As mentioned previously, today San Diegan garage rockers the Soft Pack (LAist Interview) will be performing an unprecedented ten shows across Southern California with a slew of exemplary local acts. LA-based indie rock troubadours Nico Stai are poised to take on Spaceland with none other than Chief. And, lastly, local electro-infused indie pop act Letting Up Despite Great Faults will be performing at Cinespace with the Pity Party (LAist Interview, Review, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6), psych folk act Pocahaunted (LAist Review) and Morgan Nagler of Whispertown 2000 (LAist Review, #2) to benefit Haiti. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echo to catch Raleigh-based nu-folk trio Bowerbirds. LAist favorites, Canadian folk rock singer-songwriter Julie Doiron is slated to kick things off.
Various Artists - Plastic Snow | Great Tunes, Even Greater Cause
Los Angeles-based music blog Confession of a Would-Be Hipster has compiled its first compilation, appropriately entitled Plastic Snow, just in time for the holidays. The sixteen-track disc features wintry tunes by some of the best bands the local music scene has to offer, including Great Northern, Earlimart (LAist Review, #2), Princeton (LAist Interview), Pierre de Reeder (of Rilo Kiley fame), The Monolators (LAist Review), Let's Go Sailing (LAist Interview, Review) and Letting Up Despite Great Faults. And as if that impressive cast wasn't enough, 100% of the profits from Plastic Snow go to benefit Los Angeles' longest running homeless shelter, Midnight Mission. Dropping a measly ten dollars has never felt so good!
