Tonight Florida-bred singer-songwriter/actress Mandy Moore will be gracing Amoeba Records with an in-store performance. Cambridge-based pop rock outfit Chester French (LAist Interview) are poised to share the stage at the El Rey Theatre with Lady Sovereign. And, lastly, Toronto's own alternative country act the Sadies will be making their triumphant return to Spaceland. But we strongly suggest heading over the Echo to catch Long Beach-based indie quartet Avi Buffalo (LAist Interview), who will be concluding their month-long residency. LAist favorites Divisadero are slated to kick things off.
Tonight In Rock: Mandy Moore, Chester French, The Sadies, Avi Buffalo
Tonight In Rock: Adele, Jon Brion, Franz Ferdinand, Theresa Andersson
Tonight Grammy-nominated English soul singer Adele will be headlining a sold-out show at the Wiltern. Glasgow's own indie rockers Franz Ferdinand are slated to perform at Amoeba Records early on in the evening. LA-based singer-songwriter Eleni Mandell will be gracing the stage at the Hotel Café with the equally buzzworthy "one-woman band" Theresa Andersson (LAist Interview, Review). And, lastly, English rapper Lady Sovereign is set to flow at the Echo. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Largo at the Coronet to catch producer/musician extraordinaire Jon Brion (LAist Review).

Lady Sov at Avalon
While we were secretly hoping for some crazy antics, Lady Sovereign was on her game when she hit the stage at Avalon on Friday. She didn’t come out until close to 1AM, but multiple cocktails made the time fly right by. Unfortunately, they also made our camera fly right out of our hands and malfunction. We just got pics from a friendly photag also covering the show.

Lady Sovereign at Avalon this Friday
London-born rapper Lady Sovereign will bust her rhymes this Friday, June 22nd at Avalon's Club 82. It’s a “Live PA Performance,” so this should be a one-woman show, with no pre-recorded tracks. Lady Sov is known by some as the female Eminem (Feminem?) and has been opening for Gwen Stefani on her "Sweet Escape" Tour. She’s gained some notoriety for onstage antics- at a show in New York she told the crowd to “Fuck...

Arctic Monkeys to play Troubadour on Sunday
Don't you just love Secret Shows? If you can't make it to Coachella on Friday to see the Arctic Monkeys (who we now know will be sandwiched quite nicely between the Silversun Pickups and the Jesus and Mary Chain on the main stage), the much-hyped Brits will be playing a few days later on Sunday at the historic Troubadour.

Video of the End of Lady Sovereign's Aborted El Rey Show
Concert-goers at the Lady Sovereign gig at the El Rey on Wednesday experienced some excitement they weren't expecting when the plucky Brit cut the show short due to a nasty cold. After only performing four and a half tunes, Lady Sovereign, who had been fighting the effects of a chest infection, sat down on the drum riser and burst into tears in defeat, and was soon led off the stage. Although disappointed, the crowd...
Beck's Information Continues to Dominate at Amoeba
For the third or fourth week in a row (who's counting?) our lovable loser, Beck, tops the charts at Amoeba in Hollywood with his latest collection. Just behind Beck is the super sweet double-cd Pavement reissue of Wowee Zowee that included, in some cases, information as to how to download a pristine MP3 copy of their April 1994 concert at the Palace here in Los Angeles. 1. Beck - Information 2. Pavement - Wowee...

Coachella - Saturday Preview
Is anybody driving three hours to the desert for this? Two day passes ($167 + $23 in fees) and Saturday tickets ($86 + $15 in fees) are still available. Most of the rock bands have played LA clubs in the past few months. Otherwise you better really like DJs and house music……
Blasphemous rumors allayed: Coachella lineup announced
Coachella, the 100-plus-degree Woodstock of the West has announced its 2006 lineup. As rumors had predicted, Depeche Mode will perform in the unofficial "I love the 80s" slot. We're surprised that rumors of Smashing Pumpkins and My Bloody Valentine reuniting haven't proved true. Maybe concert organizers are holding back a few "surprise guests" to goose ticket sales down the line.
