Evacuation Orders & Parking Restrictions Lifted in Foothills

Now that the storm has passed, residents of about 230 homes in La Cañada Flintridge and La Crescenta can return, as evacuation orders have been lifted by authorities in Los Angeles County. Residents returning to their homes will be asked to show identification to Sheriff's Deputies. Parking restrictions for the hillside communities have also been lifted, though it's likely there will be truck activity in the area as County Public Works Department crews clean out debris basins. more ›

147 residences in La Cañada-Flintridge and 85 residences in La Crescenta have been ordered evacuated due to the to the possibility of debris flows resulting from forecasted rain storms in the area, according to LA County officials. Those affected by the evacuation orders are being notified by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and will be expected to comply by 9PM tonight. Yesterday's rainstorm did not yield the anticipated downpours, which spared the burn-scarred and now water-logged hillsides of Foothill communities like La Cañada-Flintridge and La Crescenta from further destruction. Evacuation orders for "146 homes in La Cañada-Flintridge and 46 homes in La Crescenta" were issued on Friday, but lifted yesterday after the storm system passed, reports KTLA. Just about a half-inch of rain fell Friday night, and while we could see some scattered showers, we aren't expecting rain again until tomorrow night. Roads closed in the Station Fire burn areas "will reopen after the threat of rain has passed and safety inspections of the roadways are completed." more ›
