Radio Show About Bicycles in L.A. Gets a Live Broadcast
Bike Talk has been around as an online show for awhile now (podcast link), but tonight it will receive it's live broadcast debut as part of the KPFK 90.7 FM's efforts to pilot new shows. If it does well, Bike Talk could be a regular feature on the station. Guests on tonight's 11 p.m. show include Streetsblog LA's Damien Newton, Aurisha Smolarski from the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition and Jeff Mapes, author of Pedaling Revolution. The show is part call-in, too. "Most of the listeners of this show will probably be driving in their automobiles," said host Jim Cadenhead in an e-mail to Newton. "We want to bridge the gap between drivers and cyclists, so let's talk about what we want to see, not what we battle."
