Much Ado About Super Bowl Nothings, Then Kobe Makes History

Much Ado About Super Bowl Nothings, Then Kobe Makes History

It really does seem people just like to foam at the mouth over the most irrelevant things. I understand people being horrified by what happened in Penn State and various LAUSD schools. Being horrified by the Holocaust is also acceptable. There needs to be some gravitas is the things we rise up against. That’s why the furor over MIA and Giselle is perplexing. more ›

Clippers Squelch Heat in Overtime

On Jan. 12, 2011, the Clippers upset the might Miami Heat 111-105 breaking the Heat’s 13-game road winning streak. The Clippers were an upstart team that lacked the experience to be taken seriously. Fast forward one year, there were questions as to how the Clippers would respond now that they have been anointed as contenders. It turned out the Clippers proved their mettle in their 95-89 overtime win over the Miami Heat. more ›

Andrew Bynum Plays Big Against Houston

Andrew Bynum Plays Big Against Houston

Andrew Bynum was a player Kobe Bryant hated. Maybe it wasn’t a personal hatred, but before Pau Gasol came to Los Angeles it seemed that Kobe saw Bynum as the symbol of the Lakers’ front office incompetence after Shaquille O’Neal was traded. Bryant to this day still grouses about the fact that Smush Parker was a starting point guard for the Lakers. more ›

What the Hell Was That? Trying to Digest the First Clippers-Lakers Preseason Game

We all know it was merely an exhibition game Monday night, the first for both the Clippers and Lakers in fact. LAst Night's Action: Third Time's the Charm for Lakers to Chill Suns

LA Lakers defeat Phoenix Suns 139-137 (3OT). Who would have thought NBA players really care about a regular season game? I suppose if you’re the Suns, then you would want to make a dent in the 2 ½ games between you and the Memphis Grizzlies for the eighth spot in the West. And if you’re the Lakers, you’d want to keep hold of the second seed. Put all of it together and you get some March Madness, NBA style. more ›

LAst Night's Action: Lakers Blow Out Pistons

LA Lakers defeat Detroit Pistons 108-83. If one hasn't watched the Lakers in the past couple of weeks, nothing would seem amiss after watching the Lakers beat down the Pistons. The fourth quarter resembled a mausoleum at STAPLES Center as even the tacos were all but guaranteed midway through the fourth quarter. The bench kept hitting their shots. The stars did what they do. Perhaps the only excitement in the game was Luke Walton getting a technical foul late in the quarter. more ›
