Orcas are showing up off the coast from Palos Verdes all the way to Dana Point to the delight of whale-watching tours. It's not weird for orcas to show up in Southern California seas, but it is unusual for them to show up around here in such large numbers. more ›

Last month, a pod of playful killer whales were seen in the San Pedro Channel (you can watch that video here). Now a group -- possibly the same one? -- was spotted between two whale watching boats yesterday, just three miles from the beaches of Dana Point, feasting upon a dead sea lion. more ›
