Enough with the Oscar talk -- Kimmel's long-awaited response to "I'm Fuckin' Matt Damon" is here and it's chock-full of hilarity:

Fresh off their tour with Morrissey, Girl in a Coma is playing their third and final show with Killola tonight in Glendale at The Scene. One Killola member says that the "shows have been extra saucy, and filled with hot love." We'll let you make your own decision. Joan Jett did when she visited the two bands last week to just to listen and have a good time.

LA Weekly points us to some hot picks for tonight. About Girl in Coma: "Joan Jett knows a thing or two about rock & roll, and her latest protegees, Girl in a Coma, on her Blackheart label are one of the best and most interesting bands to come out of Texas in a long time," writes Falling James. They also play Alex's Bar in Long Beach tomorrow night. Also, Brian Wahl picks the "rare appearance" of Buddy Collette Big Band, who will be playing at the Terrace Court on the second level of Paseo Colorado at 8 p.m.

That's right! You do not have to run a 5K Nike race or deal with Ticketmaster to see Joan Jett and the Blackhearts tonight. All you have to do is get to Alhambra for Hot Summer Nights: Alhambra Summer Jubilee.

Although it might be tempting to stay home tonight to watch the results come in, they won't all be in until early tomorrow morning. So do yourself a favor and look at that list. Look at it. That is probably the best lineup of shows we've seen in LA all year. If you don't see a show tonight, on a beautiful night, pretty much the last day of summer, then well... good. More beer...

On this day in 1979, a two- to three-kiloton nuclear bomb explosion (or something) was detected in the Indian Ocean about halfway between South Africa and Antarctica. No country to date has claimed responsibility.

The Daily News talks to Cherie Currie, now a mom who lives in the Valley suburb of West Hills. Currie was the lead singer of The Runaways from 1975 to 1977; that's her in the center of the photo next to Joan Jett. You've heard "Cherry Bomb," right? That's Cherie rocking with The Runaways.

If you're listening ever so closely to Star 98.7 these days, they've slightly shifted formats, combining "Real Star Variety" with -- drumroll please -- '80s music. (Like we didn't get enough "totally '80s" weekends). Further down the radio dial, the "new" KBIG 104.3 has switched to a playlist that includes today's best music, some dance stuff and -- ready for this -- '80s music. (Both are owned by radio industry giant Clear Channel - so it's no wonder that even their websites use the same template.)
