Parental viewers were encouraged "to wrap a terrible Christmas gift, give it to their kids and then tape their reaction when they open the gift," said Kimmel during "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"

Hollywood Boulevard Chewbacca Visits Occupy L.A.: 'It's Like an Ewok Village, You Know?'
Jimmy Kimmel sent Hollywood Boulevard Chewbacca to "Wookie-py" L.A. and interview some of the folks camped out at Occupy Los Angeles at City Hall.

TV Junkie: No Emmy Nom For Jimmy Kimmel = Out of Touch Academy
The Emmys snubbed "Jimmy Kimmel Live" among other worthy shows this year, WTF? --- The data says that the "Friends" characters had 85 sex partners in 10 seasons. Poor Chandler. --- Don't miss "Louie" and "The Green Room With Paul Provenza" tonight, they are in the TV Junkie Must-Watch Plan.
What the Spork? Jamie Oliver & the LAUSD Make Nice on Late Night TV
In a low-profile attempt at armistice, newly appointed Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent John Deasy joined food revolutionary Jamie Oliver on Jimmy Kimmel's show last night. Before the show even aired, the local "Revolution"-aries were cheering the end of flavored milk in L.A.'s public schools. However, that's not a done deal, and we're still wondering what's up with this sudden change of heart from the new head of the nation's second largest school district.
Does Anyone Want to Talk About Charlie Sheen?
Yesterday evening, a broadcaster at LA's KNX 1070 remarked on air that it took a major world news event to bump Charlie Sheen and his scene-stealing antics off the front pages. But for those who clamor for more #winning reports from the realm of the troubled/triumphant actor, you shall not hunger. Here's your basic primer on the current status of Charlie Sheen('s career).

As Jimmy Kimmel and his crew revved up for a Monday night taping, things went a bit sideways: the power went out, meaning no taping could occur. Video of the Day: OctoMom Giving Birth
Oh, please...like we'd actually have (and show) the real video of Whittier's Nadya Suleman, aka OctoMom, giving birth to her eight babies. But she is looking for a buyer for her labor room video (hey, girl's gotta eat...and feed her 14 children) for the tidy sum of $1 million. Since they don't have the real thing (phew!) Jimmy Kimmel instead offers his version of Suleman's delivery in this quick and silly clip.
TV Junkie: Kimmel Grows, LA Court Corrects HBO

Those days are definitely over as the best late-night option continues to increase viewership. The NY Post's TV blog reports that Kimmel had its "best numbers in total viewers (1.9 million) and adults 18-49 (week of May 19) in nearly seven months, topped by the May 20 show, featuring "DWTS" champ Kristi Yamaguchi (2.4 million viewers)."

TV Junkie: Weekend Edition
So can fans really make a difference? Word has it that enough fans got through to NBC for them to keep the high school football-romance-drama "Friday Night Lights" on the air through a partnership with DirecTV. This gives one hope that a group of people can make a difference but then disappointment that truly great shows like "Arrested Development" couldn't make the cut. Speaking of which, Will Arnett is on Jimmy Kimmel tonight - Arnett mentioned on Conan a couple weeks ago that perhaps there is an "Arrested Development" movie in the works, wouldn't that be something?
