Los Angeles Lakers Honored By President Obama
For winning their second consecutive NBA championship, the riot-inducing Los Angeles Lakers will be honored today by President Obama at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington.
Coaches, players, and trainer Gary Vitti will all be participating in a service project at the club in keeping with the Obama administration's practice of carrying out service while presenting an honor.
Kings Reveal New Jerseys, Lose 4-3 in SO
The Los Angeles Kings new alternate jersey was revealed on Saturday night as the Kings faced the Colorado Avalanche at Staples Center. The team will wear the jerseys for limited number of home games this season. The new look is silver and black with a simple bold logo that harks back to the old Gretzky heyday from the 80's. One good thing about the striking new logo is that, with the prominent "LA" featured, nobody will be asking how things are in Sacramento when you wear it.

LA Weekly readers will notice that Jonathan Gold (ahem, PulitzerPrizeWinning-FoodWriterExtraordinaire-JonathanGold is his official title, I believe) has been a little obsessed with hot dogs lately.
