Jason Toney, editor emeritus, is back to blogging, just not for LAist. On his personal blog, Negro Please, he writes that after three months "away from the daily grind of blogging about Los Angeles in our glutted city-blog landscape, I thought I'd take a look at what's going on in LA and who is doing it well. And up front on LAist you probably have noticed that he's smart, witty and engaged with the city in a way that is always interesting. Thank goodness he's not really leaving.

Yet McKay eventually turned the Bucs around, as they reached the NFC Championship game under his leadership. A generation later, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the Super Bowl with John's son, Rich McKay as the team's GM.

My name is Jason Toney and I'm the new editor of LAist.com. Hi there. Happy Valentine's Day.

LAist.com welcomes Jason Toney as a contributor.
