Tonight In Rock: The Allman Brothers, Jane's Addiction, Ben Folds, M83

Tonight legendary Southern rockers the Allman Brothers Band will be concluding a two-night stint at the Greek Theatre with the Doobie Brothers. The buzz from last night's antics, Tom Petty and Bruce Willis joining onstage to jam, is still lingering across the internet. Winston-Salem-bred singer-songwriter/pianist Ben Folds is poised to headline the Hollywood Palladium. Denver-based singer-songwriter Jill Sobule (LAist Interview), best known for her 1995 single "I Kissed A Girl," will be gracing Largo at the Coronet. And, lastly, electronic shoegazer Anthony Gonzalez, otherwise known as M83, will be taking over the Glass House in Pomona. But we strongly suggest doing whatever it takes to get into the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre to catch local alternative rock outfit Jane's Addiction. Cleveland-bred industrial rockers Nine Inch Nails are slated to co-headline.

This week legendary Southern rock band the Allman Brothers will be taking on a two-night stint at the Greek Theatre with the Doobie Brothers. Cleveland-bred industrial rockers Nine Inch Nails are poised to co-headline the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre with local alternative rock outfit Jane's Addiction. NY's own electroclash duo Fischerspooner will be gracing the Avalon. And, lastly, Portland-based indie rockers the Decemberists will be performing at the Hollywood Palladium.

Yesterday we posted our review and set list from Perry Farrell's Rock N Roll Birthday Bash. Here are a few videos the LAist also caught in between drinks:

The front man of Jane's Addiction, Porno For Pyros, Satellite Party and a number of other side projects celebrated his 50th birthday with a rock 'n roll blow out at the Mirage in Las Vegas Saturday night. It was a who's who of Hollywood and Rock N Roll with Deborah Harry, Bill Morrison, Tom Morello, Billy Idol, Juliette Lewis, Sen Dog, Bobo (both of Cypress Hill) and many more in attendance. Check out the flyer with all the guests for the complete list.

Watch great multi-camera video and soundboard audio of about half of last Monday's set at Echoplex was posted today at Pitchfork.tv.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP to janesRSVP@janesaddiction.com as soon as possible. RSVPs will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Tonight alternative rock band Jane's Addiction will be performing the rather small room at El Cid. Swedish rockers the Sounds are taking over the spacious and recently renovated confines of the Palladium. Local indie rock band West Indian Girl will be continuing their month-long residency at Spaceland. And, lastly, if you're interested tacos and rock, then head over to SeƱor Fish in Downtown to see the Mormons and the Health Club. But we strongly suggest experiencing Spanish artist El Guincho, who will be emanating feel-good vibes at the Echo.

Last night the El Rey Theater was host to British music magazine NME's first US awards. You can find the list of award winners at Twisted Ear, since it seems like the sudden attention has crashed NME's website. For a recap of the awards show, check out MOG.

People talk about Britney, but Dave Navarro went from being the shirtless guitarist in Jane's Addiction, to being married to Carmen Electra, to hosting a tv show where they weed out cheesy singers to find one that doesn't completely suck. Now we find Dave interviewing people buying Halo 3 on Sunset & Vine. Rock is officially dead....

If Perry Farrell wants to have a Flash Mob situation happen in Venice on Sunday, fine. Bro invented Jane's Addiction, an LA band so great it ranks right up there with the Doors, Guns n Roses, and the Beach Boys. Like Brian Wilson, Perry could have holed himself up in a house doing drugs and thinking about surfing, but instead he invented Lollapalooza and then made the underground classic film The Gift. So if...

Former Jane's Addiction guitarist and current Panic Channel heart-throb Dave Navarro has had a crazy year. His split from Carmen Electra was public and messy, the TV show that he co-hosted with Brooke Burke was highly-rated and messy, but all along he has been one of LA's most reliable celebrity bloggers, giving guys like Wil Wheaton a run for Most Popular LA Celeb Blogger. A mix between updating his fans on his tour schedule...
