Turkey-ed Lakers Zoned Out Against Pacers

LAst Night's Action: Kings Show No Rust from Olympic Break

LA Kings defeat Dallas Stars 5-1. Before the Olympic break the Kings were 10-1-1. Any fear of the momentum going away was unfounded as goalie Jonathan Quick worked off his own rust to keep the Kings marching into the playoff. The Stars didn’t ease him into things getting off seven shots on goal in the first period... more ›

LAst Night's Action: Lakers Overwhelm Pacers

LAst Night's Action: Lakers Overwhelm Pacers

LA Lakers defeat Indiana Pacers 118-96. Things looked dicey for the champs on their Grammy tour in the first half. The Pacers came out with a small lineup and really pushed the tempo. Either that or the Lakers were feeling a bit sluggish after their dismantling of the Washington Wizards the previous night. Either way they went into the locker room at half time with only a three point advantage. But the boys woke up in the second half with a huge dose of Andrew Bynum. Bynum scored 27 points while grabbing 12 boards. Even Kobe Bryant who had 29 points seemed to defer to Bynum at times. Pau Gasol added 21 points and 13 rebounds while Lamar Odom rounded out with 12 points and 14 rebounds. The Lakers now head over to Philly on Friday for a warmup to their mondo mega death match against the Boston Celtics. more ›

The Ballad of Ron-Ron and Hennessey

Things have been very quiet on the Ron Artest front so far. A strange appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, his sister getting caught up allegedly committing welfare fraud and unique tweets aside, the shitstorm that was supposed to be Artest really hasn’t manifested itself. Until now that is. more ›

Extra, Extra: Jermaine O'Neal Hearts Kobe and Outsourcing Local Journalism

Indiana Pacers star power forward Jermaine O'Neal wants to be traded to the Lakers. Bad. Even Southern California is starting to feel the pinch of congestion and overcrowding. Frustration with a lack of action at the federal level has prompted states to enact a raft of new immigration laws in the first 6 months of 2007 - more than twice the number that was passed during the same period last year. A North Hollywood... more ›

Lamar: "It's about time that KCAL started broadcasting us in HD." Kobe: "Yeah? It's about time your fuckin knee healed. How 'bout that?" The Biggest Name in LA Basketball You Don’t Know

The Biggest Name in LA Basketball You Don’t Know

In early December, the Indiana Pacers were in town to face the Los Angeles Lakers. As NBA teams do, they stayed in a posh hotel -- this one in the Bel Air area. But as we Angelenos could have told them, that’s a lot of time in the car (or bus, in this case) if you want to drive out to Staples Center for a morning shoot-around, go back to the hotel for the afternoon, then back to Staples for the game that night. more ›
