Eight post offices in Los Angeles and Orange Counties will be open late tonight to accommodate those procrastinators who have waited until the very last minute to postmark their 2010 taxes. In an attention grabbing poll, California's legislature slightly edged out Britney Spears when polled Californians were asked who they would rather see manage their family budget. "Thirty-five percent of respondents said they would opt to have the Legislature manage their money, with 31 percent preferring to put Ms. Spears in charge. This morning the state announced higher income taxes and more cuts in programs because stimulus money earmarked for the state budget was not enough. Basically, last month's budget plan said if the state doesn't receive at least $10 billion from the feds, more taxes and cuts were going to happen.
