Sunday night, The Black Ghosts had a late start at Turntable Lab for the release party for their new self-titled album. There was an amiable crowd hanging around in anticipation though, checking out the dj store's collection of street art and photography books, tee shirts and spinning equipment. They were also drinking free Sparks and pocketing free "mixtape" cds from the band.

The Black Ghosts Album Release Party
Local label IAMSOUND's British electro-pop group The Black Ghosts (not to be confused with The Black Keys, Kids, or Lips) are having their release party this Sunday the 27th. The show is free at Turntable Lab (424 N. Fairfax) and it not only features free drinks, but also free mixtapes of The Black Ghosts' music, so LAist certainly recommends checking it out!
Sunny Day Sets Fire & 'American Teen' @ The L.A. Film Festival
Wednesday night's screening of American Teen at the Los Angeles Film Festival opened with a really fun, energetic set by Sunny Day Sets Fire, whose song "Lack of View", from upcoming July release Summer Palace, is included in the film's soundtrack. Sunny Day Sets Fire paid tribute to the night held at the Henry Ford Amphitheater by totally rocking out in front of the expectant movie screen, their shadows exaggerated on the walls around us, and framed by the trees in the back, all and all painting a very nice picture.
