Members of the Towne Street Theatre are on stage tonight in a double bill. First is The 10 Minute Play Festival, which features plays ranging from comedy to satire to drama brought to you by 23 actors and 9 director. Second is PassingSOLO, a one-woman show based on their play version of Nella Larsen's 1927 novella Passing. There will be a talkback after every show.

Sometimes you see rock tonight and sometimes you want to be rock tonight. If the latter, every Wednesday night at the Hyperion Tavern in the Los Feliz/Franklin Hills area, groups of friends gather to unite as one, to test their skills, woo the crowd and find their glory in Rock Band. Wednesday nights at the shack filled with chandeliers used to be reserved for Guitar Hero zealots, now groups of four can hit the stage and cheer the crowd or get booed off stage.

The Company of Angels opens Lisa Loomer's tonight at 8 pm in Silver Lake. Directed by Cornerstone Theater Company veteran Armando Molina, this provocative black comedy about female beauty, stereotypes, and medicine hasn't been performed in Los Angeles since its 1994 world premiere at the Taper, but the issues it addresses loom even larger today (I Want A Famous Face, anyone?)
