On a night when the Dodgers celebrated Don Drysdale’s 75th birthday, it was the offense that bailed out the Dodgers in their 7-6 victory over the Washington Nationals. Specifically it was the struggling Rafael Furcal who bailed the Dodgers out.

Galaxy Destroy Houston, Chivas USA's Woes Continue
The L.A. Galaxy demolished the Houston Dynamo by a score of 4 - 1 last night at the Home Depot Center, while Chivas USA fell to the New York Red Bulls by a score of 1 - 0, extending their losing streak to 5 games.
Beckham Shines as Galaxy Return to MLS Cup Final
Galaxy midfielder David Beckham put in a strong performance to help the blue-and-gold capture the Western Conference title for a sixth time in club history and the first since 2002. Veteran defender Gregg Berhalter and team captain Landon Donovan provided all the scoring on the night, literally at the eleventh hour, to take a 2 - 0 victory over the visiting Houston Dynamo.
LAst Night's Action: Lakers Lose a Mile High
Denver Nuggets defeat LA Lakers 105-79. After keeping the game close in the first half, the Lakers were outscored by the Nuggets 29-8 in the third quarter to seal their fate. While Carmelo Anthony was seemingly contained thanks to foul problems in the first half, he exploded in the third quarter scoring 12 points while making the game a laugher. Both Andrew Bynum and Kobe Bryant scored 19 points while Bynum grabbed 15 rebounds.
Chivas USA Recap: Kennedy's House
It has been an exciting weekend of Major League Soccer action. Various teams throughout the league battled it out last night for a spot in the playoffs. Only one spot remains contested and the team that will fill it will be determined later today.
LAst Night's Action: What a Mess
Colorado Rockies defeat LA Dodgers 4-3. Impatient hitting, bad bullpen and awful defense doesn't help any team to win games. On the Kamenetzky Brother's Purple, Gold and Blue podcast Wednesday morning, I said the Dodgers have to be wary about a tired bullpen. The bullpen has been making games more interesting than they needed to be lately, and it will be cause for concern if they continue to falter down the stretch. What more can be said about this game?
LAst Night's Action: Lakers Get All Jazzed Up
LA Lakers over Utah Jazz 109-98. MVP Kobe Bryant and the Lakers showed that a six-day layoff wouldn't decrease their intensity as they spanked the Jazz Sunday afternoon. Before the sold-out crowd at Staples, the Jazz looked gassed in the fourth quarter from having played six tough games against the Houston Rockets in the first round. The MVP scored 38 points and went to the free-throw line a playoff career high 23 times only missing his last two attempts. The one point of concern for the Lakers was their job on the defensive boards. Utah grabbed 25 offensive rebounds, and if the Lakers hope to make this another short series they need to box out better. The Lakers have now won five straight playoff games.
LAst Night's Action: Galaxy Show Resilience, Style
Just two minutes into Saturday's match against the Houston Dynamo, it seemed as though the Galaxy were destined to repeat some of the mistakes from last Sunday or completely dismantle the Dynamo.
LAst Night's Action: My New Boyfriend
LA Galaxy tie Houston Dynamo 2-2. This is the first professional soccer match I have attended, and it was a ton of fun. Landon Donavan made a spectacular diving header goal in the 67th minute off of a David Beckham pass that gave me the chills. But blah blah blah. The story of the night was meeting my new boyfriend Abel Xavier (pictured left). He is a defenseman born in Mozambique and has played for the Portugal national team. With a head of hair like that, how can I resist?
