Yesterday leaders of the Episcopal Church here in Los Angeles announced the six candidates they've selected as nominees for two open Suffragan (assistant) Bishop positions, reports the LA Times, and among those in the running are two openly gay priests.

Petty Officer Jonathan Campos of Lancaster was found dead in his military jail cell at Camp Pendleton yesterday, according to KTLA. Campos stood accused of murdering Seaman August Provost, a 29-year-old Houston native who "was shot multiple times as he stood guard at Camp Pendleton on June 30."

This fall, what with the elections and Prop 8 on the ballot and Anze Kopitar’s seven year deal, it seems like all of the stars are aligning for a movie like Breakfast With Scot. Stars such as Tom Cavanagh and ... that guy from Angels In America ... Besides, Cavanagh’s NBC series Ed wrapped in 2004, which is perfect because the show sucked AND Cavanagh had plenty of time prepare for his starring role as a gay ex-Toronto Maple Leafs bruiser-turned-sportscaster.

Comedian ANT, who blogs for NBC on an almost daily basis, is entering the gay marriage debate. The actor and comedian, whose material has included homophobia ("Homophobic means fear of gays. Uhhhh...what are they afraid of? Afraid that we're going to beat them up... and then fuck 'em?") began a blog entry early this morning with what will probably be No on Prop 8's unofficial campaign slogan: "Prop 8 equals hate." Don't be surprised to see more and more buttons and bumper stickers saying just that this election season. T-shirts are already being sold.
