There is something bittersweet in the crumbling monuments that have fallen into disrepair. Moss creeps over the stones, vines tangle, and the tombs are engulfed by overgrowth as they are reclaimed by the earth. Nothing is permanent. These photos were taken in Highgate Cemetery in London, which is remote and virtually abandoned.
