As contract talks with their employers drag, the Southern California union of grocery workers will consider going on strike. According to KCBS, members of United Food and Commercial Workers Local 770 will vote next Wednesday to decide on their course of action.
Beverly Hills Too Good for Plastic Bags
Don't forget your reusable tote the next time you shop in Beverly Hills. The city is currently enlisting their City Attorney to review documents created by LA County that deal with such a ban, according to Beverly Hills Patch. The November vote approved a ban for unincorporated LA County*, however several local cities within the county are pursuing bans of their own. The site reports that the November vote was unambiguous:
Burbank Fresh & Easy Opening Wednesday, Tarzana Whole Foods Opening Scheduled for May
Last month, it was South L.A. This month, it's Burbank. Fresh & Easy officials today announced that their latest store, located at Olive Street and Verdugo Avenue, will open this Wednesday at 10 a.m. after a ceremonial event with city officials and Family Promise of East San Fernando Valley, which will be given a $1,000 donation.
