The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency yesterday announced that Los Angeles has the "greatest number of energy efficient buildings that merited the EPA’s Energy Star in 2009." But this is the "Los Angeles" as in the L.A. region, which apparently includes San Diego.

At long last, one of Santa Monica’s favorite farmer’s markets, the Saturday Pico Market, returns to its home at Virginia Park. For two years the park has been undergoing an extensive remodeling and this weekend, LAist is thinking about hitting up one of our favorite SaMo brunch spots, The Lazy Daisy, and heading over to check out the new digs. Scoping it out this week it looked a postcard picture with young and old enjoying the new basketball courts, bike and pedestrian path, playground and BBQ pits. There is also an inside facility for teens to hang out in and a small recreational gym.
