A Santa Ana man who set his girlfriend on fire during a fight has been sentened to 15 years in prison, reports CBS Los Angeles. Constantino Monterrosas Gamez, 39, plead guilty last week to attempted murder, making criminal threats, false imprisonment and great bodily injury.

An Orange County man has been arrested on suspicion of shooting and killing his 20-year-old girlfriend, reports CBS News. 20-year-old Samuel Montes was arrested Saturday after authorities learned that he had been at the scene of Nicole Gutierrez's death but then fled. He was taken into custody on suspicion of Gutierrez' murder and is being held on $1 million bail.

Jurors began deliberating yesterday in the second degree murder case of Reseda resident, Mark Allen Steffen, who is accused of killing his girlfriend and stuffing her body into his shed for a month and a half. He says he kicked her out and her dead body mysteriously reappeared in his house, so he put her body into the shed until finding proper burial. Prosecutors say this is clearly murder.
