Allee Willis is a lot of things - songwriter, artist, director, performer, hostess extraordinaire, and owner of a fab mid-centry modern home -- the list goes on. Personally, I love her for introducing me to Bud Cort and for writing "Boogie Wonderland". Just try to listen to that song and not boogie.

Tonight, Rosalind Franklin Jekowsky, niece and namesake of the British biophysicist whose famous photo led to the discovery of the structure of DNA, will lead a Talk Back discussion following the performance. The show begins at 8 pm tonight.

Thrill first hit the music scene in the 1930s, and has headed up several all-girl bands in the decades since. The video is doing its viral thing, but in case you haven't seen it, take a second and enjoy the trip. (It's suggested you view the vid in HD.)

FILM: There’s a special screening of The Gits tonight at the Egyptian. The documentary explores the Seattle punk rock band and the rape/murder of the band's singer Mia Zapata.”It was a crime unsolved when director Kerri O'Kane began shooting her debut feature. In the interim, however, fans, friends and celebrities like Joan Jett (interviewed here) and Nirvana helped raise money to reopen what had become a cold case file. Mia's death had reverberated throughout the music community, and unexpectedly Mia's killer was brought to justice as the cameras rolled.” The movie screens at 7:30. There’s a discussion following with O'Kane and producer Jessica Bender.
