A 17-year-old boy managed to not only bring a gun into Gardena High School last week, but allegedly accidentally discharge it from inside his backpack, wounding two 15-year-old classmates. Now the mother of Trendell Gholar, one of the victims, has sought counsel and says she will sue the Los Angeles Unified School District, reports KTLA.

The two students who were arrested Tuesday for aiding the suspected gunman at Gardena High after his gun discharged and he fled from the classroom will not face charges, according to KTLA.
Student Who Brought Gun to Gardena High Charged Today
The teenager who is accused of bringing a loaded gun into Gardena High School was charged with two felonies today, according to ABC7. The 17-year-old is facing "one count of possessing a firearm in a school zone and one count of discharging a firearm in a school zone." The gun was fired from inside the student's backpack. Two classmates were critically wounded; the 15-yer-old boy has been released from the hospital while the 15-year-old girl remains in critical condition. Arraignment is tomorrow; prosecutors have asked the teen be tried as an adult.
Police Show Force at Gardena High, Gunman to be Charged with Lesser Crime
An increased police presence will grace the halls of Gardena High School on what will be a difficult day for many students after yesterday's "accidental" shooting of two students, according to the Daily Breeze. Grief counselors will also be on campus to help students work through what they witnessed during the shooting and lockdown.
Gardena High Student Gunman Surrenders
The student gunman who reportedly shot three students at Gardena High a few hours ago and forced a school-wide lockdown, has surrendered to police, according to LA Now.
3:57 P.M. UPDATE: The student held for the "acccidental" shooting of two students had brought a gun to school "a couple times" before after having been in a fight outside of school that made him fear for his safety, according to LA Now. When the gun went off in his backpack and struck two students, he apologized before running out of the classroom. Investigators are looking into how a student could so easily enter the school with a gun.
