We strongly suggest doing whatever it takes to get into the Autry National Center to catch Los Angeles-by-way-of-Michigan singer-songwriter Benji Schneider, otherwise known as Lord Huron, who will be performing with the famed string quartet Calder Quartet for Brand X’s inaugural L.A. Unheard concert. LAist favorites, local experimental punk outfit Abe Vigoda and indie folk act Gamble House are slated to kick things off. Check out all of our picks for live music tonight in Los Angeles.
Tonight In Rock: Lord Huron, Young Prisms, Night Horse, Woolen
Tonight In Rock: My Morning Jacket, Empire Of The Sun, Tokyo Police Club, Gamble House
Tonight Louisville's crown jewel My Morning Jacket will be headlining the Greek Theatre with none other than Long Beach/Los Alamitos natives and recent Sub Pop signees Avi Buffalo (LAist Interview, Review). Australian electro pop duo Empire of the Sun, which is of course composed of Luke Steele of the Sleepy Jackson and Nick Littlemore of Pnau, are poised to continue a four-night stint at the Music Box at Henry Fonda Theater. And, lastly, Ontario-based indie rockers Tokyo Police Club will be performing to a sold-out crowd at the El Rey Theatre with Queens' own indie pop buzz band Freelance Whales in tow. But we strongly suggest heading over to Pershing Square to catch a free performance by O.C.-based indie folk act Gamble House, who recently released their fantastic self-titled, studio-album debut.
