The pitching duo of Jered Weaver and Jose Arrendano combined to keep the Dodgers hitless in Saturday night's game at Dodger Stadium. However because of an unearned run in the fifth inning, the duo went only eight innings which according to the rules disqualifies them from an official no-hitter. And, most importantly, the Angels lost 1-0.

This video was posted by a disturbed San Diego fan after seeing some not-so-classy behavior in Chavez Ravine. Not that rowdy fans are anything new, but something about the tone of LA fans should be improved. We all expect Dodger Stadium to start clearing out in the seventh inning, except for those fans who sauntered in around the fourth and still haven't finished their Dodger Dog. As if the local reputation for bandwagon fans...
The major league baseball season begins tonight, with the St. Louis Cardinals beginning their title defense against the New York Mets. And, as always, with Opening Day comes optimism. Fans across the country have convinced themselves that this year the (insert local team here) will challenge for the pennant and make a strong push in October. Next year is now.
Rockets 107, Lakers 104, OT - When you have Kobe on your team, you want him to take the critical shots. You want him to take a lot of shots, period. Kobe took so many (44) that he had 53 points and made a clutch off-balance three pointer to send the game to overtime. Unfortunately, he "only" made 19 of his shots and missed a critical three pointer at the end of overtime. Clippers 105,...
Dodger Stadium opened for business last night, with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim taking advantage of Randy Wolf's eight-million dollar arm and chalking up an easy 6-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the opening game of the annual pre-season Freeway Series. And while the on-field stories (Orlando Cabrera goes 3-for-3! Russell Martin can't throw anyone out!! Brady Clark makes his Dodger Stadium debut in right field and hits into a 4-3 triple play!!!) were certainly riveting, let's face it, this was just an exhibition. And it was the stories off the field that truly captivated the (not even close to) capacity crowd.
This Dodgers team has been absolutely incredible. Despite a pitching rotation which has been in tatters in all season long, the Dodgers have managed a whopping 53 come-from-behind wins, and 16 when trailing after 8 innings. Talk about clutch.
