The Echo Park Curiosity Shop and Art Gallery announced today via their blog that they will be closing down for good. The eclectic space, currently housing events and art exhibits, had run into some challenges last month as they put music performances on hold and pursued their cafe entertainment license with the city. Though the next incarnation won't be identical, rest assured "some form of this will return." Stay tuned!

The nine soft-yet-striking songs pair perfectly with life's most delicious moments. The new album also features special guests such as Luke Reynolds, Ryan Dobrowski & Luke Ydstie of Blind Pilot and Mat Davidson of The Low Anthem.

Last month, there was a great night of performances by singer-songwriters that included Carina Round (MySpace) at the Hotel Cafe (MySpace) in Hollywood, as well as Tenlons Fort (MySpace) -- backed by members of Amnion (MySpace), Avi Buffalo (MySpace), Castledoor (MySpace), and The Monolators (MySpace) -- Jenny O. (MySpace), Angela Correa (MySpace), Rachael Cantu (MySpace), and Daniel Ahearn (MySpace) at Mr. T's Bowl (MySpace) in Highland Park. Opening at Mr. T's was rapper Trick Tracy -- aka Castledoor's Brandon Schwartzel.

Last Thursday, Echo Curio (MySpace) presented a show with local artist Ronald Dzerigian (MySpace) and local band The Pity Party (MySpace). Much of The Pity Party's merchandise showcases Dzerigian's artwork, and this evening featured their free limited-edition show-exclusive EP).
