John Lennon fans and political activists everywhere will rejoice with the forthcoming film The U.S. Versus John Lennon. The September release will capture Lennon’s push for world peace through his progression from being a part of the fab four to becoming an anti-war activist. The film focuses on Lennon’s life from the late 1960s to the early 1970s, and also captures Lennon’s fight with the Nixon administration.

There are hundreds of sketch comedy shows in LA, but this one is definitely not to be missed. Laist was lucky enough to catch a preview of at the ACME Comedy Theatre on La Brea this Sunday. ACME is famously known as the stage where comedians such as Adam Carolla, Wayne Brady, Alex Borstein, Sean Hayes and others perfected their comedic chops. It's refreshing to see that the comedians in its Bravo Company are still coming up with original material.

LAist patriarch Gothamist recently asked the question, Do You Feel the Jamba? -- asking New Yorkers if Jamba Juice shops in the Big Apple was a huge stretch... Did New Yorkers freezing their asses off really want to get a Peach Pleasure or a Coldbuster to refresh their taste buds?
