Good news for frisky canines! Funding for L.A. County's first off-leash area for dogs in a county park was approved yesterday by the Board of Supervisors. The Crescenta Valley Dog Park will encompass 1.5 acres of the northwest section of the Crescenta Valley Community Regional Park.

Huntington Beach's Dog Beach Named #1 in Country
Huntington Beach is not just Surf City USA, but now one magazine is claiming it has the best dog beach in the country. As pointed out by the Orange County Register, FIDO-Friendly magazine has published the top 10 dog beaches, finding Huntington Dog Beach at the top. Reasons include the amount of coastline, rules letting dogs be off leash and nearby pooch-friendly eateries. It's an "amusement park of sorts," the magazine said.

Possible Dog Park for Hollywood Hills, or Large Condo
As you drive "over the hill" from the Valley to Hollywood along Laurel Canyon Blvd., there's a sign there asking for donations to save some plots of land from development. No, it isn't a citizens' group or a non-profit for wilderness, it's a government agency. "Donated funds needed immediately to save these six acres under option by part agency," it reads.
The Worst Dog Park In The World?
Right where the 134 meets the 5 is an atrocious dilapidated dirt lot known as The Griffith Park Dog Park. Despite being visible from the 134, and located at the intersection of two main freeways, it is near impossible to find or get to.
