dineLA: Citizen Smith

             + 1 more

One thing you may have noticed about LAist is that we take our mac and cheese very seriously. Luckily, so do the good folks over at Citizen Smith. The trippy junk store-chic hotspot that has inhabited the Cahuenga corridor for four years is known more for its nightlife, but they definitely take their food seriously. more ›

dineLA: Rush Street

Everything I really need to know I learned at Rush Street. 1.Share everything. The servings here are so generous and the food is so tempting-looking, it is impossible for friends to keep their fingers out of your fries. Luckily, you have a mess of fries and can afford to lose a few. After all, Rush Street generously invited LAist to sample their dineLA menu, so share and share alike. more ›

dineLA: Rivera

             + 1 more

It's a shame that not every diner can sit down with Rivera's John Sedlar and listen to him tell the stories of his dishes while they dine. Sedlar is a gifted storyteller in person, however the power of myth, history, and culture are also embedded in every bite of the beautiful food he has on the menu at his popular and welcoming downtown restaurant. more ›

dineLA: La Cachette Bistro

Once upon a time the words "La Cachette" evoked a sort of "ladies who lunch" sense of formality, even at dinner time. The menu seems basic upon first glance, but the high quality of the ingredients and careful execution made the simplest-sounding dishes exquisite. more ›

dineLA: Locanda del Lago

             + 1 more

You may not be able to share lunch by the water in George Clooney's villa, but you can get a taste of Lake Como right here in Santa Monica. Its location on the 3rd Street Promenade may make some people think the restaurant is a tourist trap, but once ensconced in the tasteful high-ceilinged, white tablecloth restaurant it becomes clear this is not some cheesy chain. Locanda del Lago is a special occasion restaurant, but it is also down-to-earth enough that you can come-as-you-are straight off the Promenade. more ›

Offering rustic, quality comfort dishes and a convivial atmosphere with affordable prices, Vinolio is one of the over 200 restaurants participating in dineLA 2010's winter Restaurant Week.
