Filthy, lovable, mustachioed filmmaker John Waters is releasing A Date With John Waters, a stirring yet suitably bizarre compilation album of his favorite love songs. To celebrate the album's release Waters will be at Amoeba Records in Hollywood tomorrow, February 6 at 6 PM, signing CDs and posing with fans in a Valentines setting.
The album spans oddities such as the first record Waters ever owned, "Tonight You Belong to Me" by Patience and Prudence, to the "first trisexual song ever recorded," "Ain't Got No Home" by Clarence "Frogman" Henry, to the wailing blues of Ike & Tina Turner's "All I Can Do Is Cry" to the "perfect song for an awkward moment," "Sometimes I Wish I Had A Gun" by Mink Stole.

In between an Angie Dickinson double feature last night, the woman herself made an appearance and answered questions from a hoarde of enthusiastic male fans. At 75, the woman still has it; heck, she doesn't look a day over 50. (she may have had work done, but it's exceptionally good work).

Janet Leigh, famous for her screaming battle with a knife-wielding madman in Psycho, passed away yesterday in Beverly Hills. She was 77.
The Royal We
Tonight at The Echo, show up at 8:00 PM for an Extreme Wine Tasting, "The Hypothetical Curries of Vagina Tandoori: The Wines of Château Julien of Carmel." This event matches six hypothetical curries to six wines from Château Julien of Carmel; to counter the hypothetical curry, there will be "pertinent fromage from the Cheese Store of Silver Lake" and a DJ spinning wine-drinking music. There is only room for 60, so buy your tickets early. Tickets are $18.00, and can be purchased at Sea Level Records. (21+)
