Dane Cook at The Laugh Factory THIS WEEKEND! OMG!

For all of you Dane Cook fans out there, it's time to put down your retainers and ask mom and dad if it's OK to stay out late this weekend, as Dane himself will be filming a new Comedy Central piece at the Laugh Factory. This is great news for all four people who watched every episode of Tourgasm (you know who you are). Dane will be taking over the Laugh Factory to tape his latest special, Isolated Incident, this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Who knows, he might try to defy the laws of comedy and the WORLD by just doing stand up for all three days without stopping! Take THAT Dave Chappelle!

Who says there's anything we wouldn't do for our readers? Here we are in all of our glory and humiliation for your viewing pleasure.

Neal Brennan (center) made a name for himself writing jokes alongside Dave Chappelle. With a sketch comedy show that reached legendary status in the "Chappelle's Show" and a cult classic movie, Half Baked already under his belt, Neal has transitioned into directing. Last year he directed VH-1's Totally Awesome, a hilarious Made-For-TV 80's spoof that he also co-wrote. Neal is currently working on a Will Ferrell produced comedy feature that stars Jeremy Piven. Despite...

After a lengthy private conference with attorneys from both sides, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer said Hilton would be "required to attend" the next court date. Los Angeles 2016 Reacts...

Recommended After Innocence - Jessica Sanders directs this documentary detailing the stories of seven men who were wrongfully imprisoned for decades (some of them on death row) before finally being exonerated by DNA evidence. The Amazing Screw-On Head - This animated 30-minute pilot (I can only hope there will be more episodes) based on the comic book by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola is full of awesome animation (it closely mimics Mignola's style), witty dialogue,...

From November 14th to November 18th, AEG & HBO will be hosting The Comedy Festival at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. The five night fest promises the return of Dave Chappelle; a special night of “Tourgasm” starring Dane Cook; a live version of MTV’s “Nick Cannon Presents Wild ‘N Out”; our mom's favorite: Tom Joyner’s “Oh, Oh, Oh, Comedy Show” featuring Mike Epps, Mo’Nique, Damon Wayans, and Katt Williams; perennial “D-list” celebrity comedienne Kathy...

Sorry for the short notice, but with a guy like Chappelle you never quite know where he'll pop up...or when. Hell we've been waiting for him to re-appear on Comedy Central for years now.

We just started reading LA Sports Columnist and one-time LAist interview subject J.A. Adande's blog this week. Actually, just yesterday when he posted some of the mail he's been getting regarding his NBA MVP column in which he had the gall to not choose Employee #8 (and not to get sidetracked but this LAist contributor agrees. Steve Nash made every player on his team look like an MVP candidate and LeBron James played like Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson had a baby the second half of the season. Kobe might be the greatest show on earth but, last we checked, basketball is a team game and you can tout all the 50 point/1 assist games you like, we'll always argue that that's spectacular but compared to filling up the rest of the stat sheet and getting your team to 50 wins or better is better).

What's the buzz at the water cooler these days? Of course the water cooler was beaten to death (no pun intended) with the happenings of PopeGate 2005, and then we seemed to quickly burn through the "hot at the moment" rumors of Dave Chappelle going mental, checking into a hospital, fleeing to Mars, take your pick.

But Napster To Go could care less. They released an exclusive playlist today (as selected by The Kitty) for their mp3 player service that is a soundtrack for Dave Chappelle's South African "Getaway" (sneer quotes belong to Napster).

For us kids who grew up in the 80s, his tunes and beats helped us learn to dance while the grown ups could enjoy the abundance of double entendres that escaped our comprehension. The next generation was introduced to Rick via M.C. Hammers sampling of Jamess biggest hit Super Freak, to which LAist says: better late than never. And Rick James continues to provide pop culture with awesome material used for unexpected purposes. Sounds bites from Dave Chappelles brilliant comic salute to the legacy of Rick James has recently become one of the most widely-quoted bits around; the timing of this trend has now proven to be uncanny.
