It would be like me publishing a book called Who Farted? and suddenly being rich. Don't buy this DVD! Instead, buy Weeds: Season 4 and help honor the American entrepreneur! Looking for a downer evening (or maybe a starting point for the whole "yeah, we should get divorced" conversation")? Revolutionary Road will do the heavy lifting for you.

The real stars of aren't Daniel Craig and Olga Kurylenko, but stunt coordinator Gary Powell and his army of crack stunt performers. From the thrilling opening car chase along narrow mountain roads to the explosive and fiery conclusion in the desert, rarely does so much as five minutes pass before yet another huge spectacle is splashed across the screen. That none of the film's many action sequences ever seem rote or dull is a true testament to the ingenuity and daring of Powell and his team.

Readers of made only a ripple at the domestic box-office. It should do much better on DVD as a wider audience discovers this wonderful, heartbreaking film.

One of my favorite films of 2007 arrives to DVD today, , rectify that mistake today by buying the new, juicier version.

Atonement hits theaters this weekend as one of the few, definite contenders for an Academy Award. It bears all the traditional hallmarks of an Oscar-caliber film: lavish period piece (check), excellent source novel (check), epic scope (check), high-powered English cast (check), nude scene from Keira Knightley (double check).
