“A worse thing couldn’t have happened to a better guy,” said Adam Carolla of 31 year-old “Bald” Bryan Bishop’s inoperable brain tumor. “He’s one of the sharpest, brightest, smartest, nicest guys I’ve ever met.”

This week seems to be the week that new sitcoms will be unleashed upon us. Tonight we have the bizarre historical moment in which commercial characters have now secured themselves an actual network television series. We're of course talking about Cavemen. While GEICO may have created a successful commercial campaign, one would think that the idea of a series could have been tested online much more economically. Everyone is predicting a flameout and that the...

A Word or 56+/-: I guess Tuesday's are Ida Lupinow filmfests on TCM - why, god why? How about a Terry Thomas filmfest for effssake? If you want to watch new stuff tonight you'll have to head over to PBS. And hey, Colbert has a "surprise guest that rhymes with Steagle" tonight. Bugsy Siegel? Tonight - Tuesday - June 12th, 2007 Dodgers @ Jays (KCAL, 4:00 p.m.) Astros @ Angels (Fox Sports, 7:30 p.m.)...
A Word or 44: The first 1/2 of the "24" season premiere was quite good even though I don't understand how Jack found the terrorist dude before his house got blown up. Also, was there some anal play going on between Jack and the first terrorist guy? Kinky. Tonight - Monday - January 15th, 2007 "Lawrence of Arabia" (TCM, 5:00 p.m.) Quite possibly the best movie ever made. "Hamlet" (IFC, 6:00 p.m.) Classic Shakespeare...

Two Months. Two Comedies. One Hillside Location. We are excited for Say The Word and Says You! to come to the Skirball Cultural Center:
We love when Las Buxoticas and Los Luchadores come together at the Mayan Theater and entertain the eclectic masses. Having become so popular in its 3 year history, Lucha Va Voom added another show to their usual downtown Halloween massacre and LAist was there drunk off of tequila shots and vodka laced drinks poured with a heavy hand. We arrived just as the lovely ring managers and burlesque dancers drove up in their classic low riders. Outside of those ladies and their grand entrance which let us know they were part of the show, it was difficult to figure out who was in the act and who was merely an excited and obsessive fan dressed for the occasions. After buying our own Lucha masks, we settled in to enjoy the show.
