Dear LAist, I could've sworn when I randomly popped into the Library Bar last night I saw you carousing with a bunch of people who all had name tags and were drinking free beer. What's up with that? It all started with talk of Posh & Becks moving to Los Angeles. Then it was about Posh and the Spice Girls and their horrible videos. The conversation turned to boy bands of the same era (give or take) and their horrendous videos that often seemed sexually, well, questionable. LAist has now officially laughed ourselves silly watching these old videos and have to share them with you. They have a certain, "this can't possibly be for real" quality to them. So each day this week at lunch we are sharing a boy band classic video with you.

While local citizens are always their own experts on everything from restaurants to movie theaters to parking lots and gas stations, LAist finds that more people have more opinions about sweets than anything else in town. Most specifically donuts. (Or, doughnuts. Or, dough-nuts.)

We wish we'd brought our camera. Gili Rashal, owner and tipster of thetipjar.com, held the launch party for the new advice site at trendy Hollywood clothing store, Brunette, last night and we were lucky enough to attend.
