Cal State Long Beach grad student Colle Carpenter was the victim of a violent on-campus attack, however the school has since been criticized for how they handled the incident according to LA Now. Don't Panic: Swine Flu Confirmed in Los Angeles County

It's official: There are three confirmed reported cases of Swine Flu, aka H1N1, in Los Angeles County. The word comes from the County health department, who made the announcement last night. One case is a female student at Cal State Long Beach, whose status as "Swine Flu Sufferer" has been in question for several days now, and "the other confirmed cases are in residents of central and southeast Los Angeles," according to the Daily Breeze. more ›

Swine Flu Around Town: 30 Marines Quarantined, CSULB & Oxnard

There are still no confirmed cases of swine flu in LA County, but over at Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, one comrade has fallen sick and 30 that were around him socially have also been quarantined just in case. The marine in question, who had not been to Mexico, is doing well and seems to be improving. Back to LA County, one student at CSULB is listed as a "probable" swine flu case, but test results will not be in until tomorrow. Long Beach Transit Teams up with CSULB

Santa Monica College is already going full force with their Big Blue Bus partnership that gives students and faculty free rides. Now, Long Beach Transit and California State University, Long Beach, are aiming towards a similar program, according to the Press-Telegram: "The one-month trial program, which began Monday, aims to alleviate parking problems on campus, save students gas money and get incoming freshmen in the habit of relying on the bus. CSULB students and employees can swipe their university identification cards on board Long Beach Transit buses to get unlimited free rides on any route, including those that aren't connected with the campus." more ›
