It looks like they can fly, sometimes. What do you do on National Pig Day anyway? I could be snarky and suggest some bbq, but I love pigs, Porky and Arnold the Pig included.
She's Crafty
Still haven’t found the perfect gift for that hard-to-buy-for kinky family member? Not sure what to get for the Samantha Jones of your group? Or just broke, and would sooner choke on a reindeer cookie than knit another scarf? There’s hope yet—and thank the gods of crafting, it doesn’t involve mastering a new sweater pattern. This Friday, Babeland, L.A.’s loveable educational sex toy store, will offer up Craftnight. Hosted by Julianna Parr—or “JP the...

Even More Weekend Things!
Well, the Solstice has come and gone, which means our days our longer, and our nights are longer, too, somehow. This weekend there is no shortage of fun things to do, and no excuse for us to not get out there and do them. That is, unless, you are one of the lucky few with an ocean breeze or a good air conditioning system to keep you coolly behind your doors--this weekend's forecast is for temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.
Get Out!
We're changing things up a bit here at LAist. Because we live in such a vibrant, socially active city, there are things going on all the time. We have long wanted to be able to list events in advance (for the benefit of our wonderful readers), so starting today we have implemented a new strategy: a week's events in advance. We will still post featured events each day, but we've added a permanent sidebar (to the left) that will always link to a post containing this week's events.
The Stranger
It's going to be a slow week in the events section as the city shuts down to celebrate the holidays. But never fear, there is still some entertainment to be had:
