Tonight, the artist collective BOXeight, known for bringing Fashion Week back to downtown LA by establishing themselves as an alternative to the traditional Fashion Week, is opening their 6,000 sq ft gallery and exhibition "I Think It's Art, I Think It's Fashion". Long deemed the largest independent arts organization in Los Angeles, and they are now able to boast the largest independent art gallery as well.

Going into F8 (the Facebook Developers Conference) yesterday, there was an expectation of learning something new and exciting about the uses of Facebook as a means of building a business, evangelizing a movement or business or brand (in LA all of that means preaching to others about yourself) and how Facebook now is going to help application developers make money on its platform.

Is the word Hipster even allowed to be used anymore without disdain dripping from the user's tongue? Is it outdated? What about the connotation - good, bad, both? The Anti-Hipster's Guide to LA is a listing of people, bars/clubs, musicians/DJs, artists, installation, etc etc that may be deemed hipster-centric but don't really carry the negative connotation of the word (meaning pretentious, inaccessible, you get my drift)

I first interviewed the guys almost a year ago for another online publication and we decided to sit down again, have a chat and see what had happened with and to them as Current's go to guys. The boys are blowing up. Last year they won and Emmy, this year they landed a spot in the pages of Interview Magazine and an advertorial spread in L'Uomo Vogue. That's right people, Current TV does high fashion.

Can I just say that after giving up TV, I have had a bitch of a time trying to find Family Guy and Sex and the City episodes (which I have recently gotten re-addicted to over the Christmas holiday) online. I found a solution (and something else to get addicted to) – OVGuide.com. OVG is now on my Firefox toolbar – and that's a big deal to me, though maybe not you because you don't know how important something has to be to me to land a spot on that toolbar.

So we heard that at 12:00 a.m. EST, 9:00 p.m. PST (or LA time for those of us who could give a crap about the rest of the West Coast) tonight, those sexy boys at Current TV, Max Lugavere and Jason Silva, will be hosting the exclusive (yes, exclusive) US broadcast of Radiohead playing In Rainbows. In its entirety. Sexy, exclusive, entirety. After the broadcast, M and J will be hosting a very special Best of Current TV hour.

Not sure if you remember, about two years ago, about the young fellow who had this internet phenomenon in early 2006 by the name of Myspace: The Movie. Well, his name is Dave Lehre and since then, I've been seeing him everywhere – Esquire, Myspace (obviously), YouTube, 20/20, New York Times. His YouTube channel has over 4500 subscribers and he just directed a video for Pittsburg Slim.

So at first this was going to be a whole “Chronicle in the Life of a Hollywood Hipster” type of deal. But let's face it. I'm not a hipster, I am hip (in the non-sarcastic, semi-sincere sense), but definitely not a Hollywood Hipster. I hate Hollywood hipsters. Even more than that, I hate Silverlake/Los Feliz hipsters. You know them, they take themselves way too seriously with their severe haircuts and super tight pants. Bastards. Anywho,...
