Former Price is Right host and longtime animal rights advocate Bob Barker has become the public face of a campaign to urge retailer Costco to stop selling veal produced under cruel conditions.
The national organization Mercy For Animals launched the campaign, which involved obtaining hidden camera video recordings at Buckeye Veal farm in Apple Creek, Ohio, the supplier used by Costco for the meat. Now might be a good time to pick up a flexitarian diet.

First there was his extended meditation on his father's food legacy and the importance of the Chicago-style hot dog: "weekends were often dominated by [Gold Sr's] search for hot dogs in Los Angeles, and he would drive me and my brothers around for hours in the old Studebaker on the rare occasions he found a stand that he liked." Gold's best bets for Chicago-style in L.A.? The Infield in Sherman Oaks, Portillo's in Buena Park, and Vicious Dogs in North Hollywood.

It's become a bit of a tradition. Each year, my co-workers and I spend one of our November lunch breaks at Costco. The seven of us help each other shop and have a fun time trying to find some deals.
Costco Reins It In
It may have been a secret known only to a few bold individuals but for many years, Costco has had one of the most liberal return policies on electronics in the business. And that, apparently, was the problem. Spurred on by losses amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars a year, the LA Times is reporting that Costo will halt its very liberal return policy this week. In the past, you could purchase anything...
