After Metrolink's CEO stepped down last December--he was facing a possible ousting anyway--the commuter rail agency today announced its new CEO. John E. Fenton, who will begin on April 16th, was most recently the Operating Partner of CIH Capital Partners, a full service investment bank, and before that the President and CEO of OmniTRAX, Inc., a Denver-based transportation services company. He's also held positions as the General Manager/Vice President of the Canadian National Railway, Vice President of the Kansas City Southern Railway and at the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, which later became part of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway.

Safer Type of Train Car Arrives for Metrolink to Test
Metrolink today received the first two cars in a pilot program that seeks to make commuter rail safer for the Los Angeles region. The new passenger Crash Energy Management (CEM)-enabled cars, which will supposedly reduce the impact with "unique collision-absorption technology," are a first for the country.
Metrolink Kicks Up Orange County Service
