Over 100,000 Season Ticket Requests made for Non-Existent NFL Stadium, Team

Really? Is Southern California that deprived of football that people are scurrying to make season ticket requests before the proposed NFL stadium in the city of Industry has even broke ground or a team is announced? That's what James Wagner, the NFL stadium beat writer for the San Gabriel Tribune is reporting, via stadium developers, Majestic Realty.

LA Lakers defeat Washington Wizards 117-97. The game was never in doubt from the opening tip off. When the crowd starts hanging on every action of Sun Yue on the court, you know the Lakers have coasted. Andrew Bynum led all scorers with 23 points while six other Lakers scored in double digits.

NFL Stadium for City of Industry or City of Los Angeles?

A $5 million bond will be voted on by residents in the City of Industry, population, 800. If passed, it will pay for practice fields, restaurants, banquet facilities, offices and the stadium, the LA Times says today in a report about the proposed and controversial stadium. Fearing traffic and noise, the cities of Diamond Bar and Walnut don't want a stadium in the neighboring city. And Los Angeles would rather not see it in Industry either--after all, we don't need another Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim going on here, do we? (The Los Angeles Smokestakes of Industry?) Ed Roski, the developer, said last September that we'll see the NFL here in September 2009. Well, good luck!

LAist contributer and LA Times Bruins and Trojan blogger Adam Rose blogged about an encore presentation Majestic Realty Chairman Ed Roski gave to a group of local business leaders this past Wednesday on the plans for building the Los Angeles Stadium.

It started as SB 1771, a bill that would implement a program teaching homeowners how to navigate through the current mortgage crisis. Then, all of the sudden, it was about the NFL in the City of Industry. It may seem tricky, but that's the game when it comes to "spot bills," or placeholders with text and intentions that may be the goal or not.
