2 Armed Men Hold Up Valley Blvd. Pot Dispensary

A medical marijuana dispensary located outside the City of Industry was the target of an armed hold-up last night, and netted the pair of perps approximately $5,000 in cash, according to the Daily Breeze. The suspects, both men, threatened one employee of the La Puente Clinic, though no one was ultimately injured. "One of the robbers also grabbed a purse from a worker," notes abc7. As the idea to build a football stadium in downtown Los Angeles surfaced, more concern over the planned one out in the City of Industry have been raised. On Tuesday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said he was worried about how the 75,000-seat, $800-million facility would be built, the San Gabriel Tribune reported. A collision involving a Metrolink train and a Union Pacific maintenance truck has left one dead and two injured, according to LA Now. A $5 million bond will be voted on by residents in the City of Industry, population, 800. If passed, it will pay for practice fields, restaurants, banquet facilities, offices and the stadium, the LA Times says today in a report about the proposed and controversial stadium. Fearing traffic and noise, the cities of Diamond Bar and Walnut don't want a stadium in the neighboring city. And Los Angeles would rather not see it in Industry either--after all, we don't need another Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim going on here, do we? (The Los Angeles Smokestakes of Industry?)
