Last year, the Pepperdine student newspaper The Graphic asked the university to finally come out with a decision about whether a gay-straight alliance group on campus was acceptable. The university did just that, announcing that nope, Reach OUT isn't aligned with the core religious values of the university, which is affiliated with the conservative Church of Christ.

Autumn Sandeen of Pam's House Blend has gotten her hands on a letter from the American Family Association that has set out a plan to eliminate gay marriage in California. In August, the "Voter Identification Phase," volunteers will find those who are for and undecided among the 16 million CA registered voters. The "Advocacy Phase" in September will be about returning to those identified voters and getting them to vote yes on the initiative. Then October, the "Get Out the Vote" phase, will be about just that. It's pretty basic, but it is just a sign that large scale battle in our mailboxes, on the TV and everywhere else is revving up to begin.
