Rihanna to Speak Out on What Happened Last February

It was the early morning on February 8th--Grammys night--when Chris Brown lashed out at his girlfriend Rihanna in Hancock Park. What exactly happened is unknown, but ABC says Rihanna will reveal publicly what happened on Good Morning America this Thursday and Friday (also on 20/20 on Friday evening) in an interview with Diane Sawyer. Brown eventually apologized publicly on YouTube after entering into a plea agreement. He was slapped with five years of probation and 180 days of community service. He also has to take a one-year domestic violence class and stay 50 yards away from Rihanna.

The Leaked Rihanna Photo: 2 Officers Placed On Leave

Two officers have been placed on paid leave as a probe continues into how a battered photo of Rihanna was leaked to TMZ, according to four unnamed sources speaking to the LA Times. In the early morning hours before the Grammys last February, Chris Brown threatened and assaulted Rihanna, his girlfriend, after a dispute. About a week and a half later, TMZ posted a leaked police photo of Rihanna showing cuts and bruises. The celebrity website was very hush-hush on where they obtained it and the LAPD asked the public's help in the case.

Chris Brown Sentenced to 5 Years of Probation

After entering into a plea agreement with prosecutors last June that guaranteed no jail time, singer Chris Brown today was sentenced to five years of probation and 180 days of community service by an L.A. County Superior Court Judge, the LA Times reports. He will also have to take a year-long domestic violence class and stay 50 yards away from pop singer Rihanna, who he attacked and threatened last February, for the next five years. Brown will be under the direct supervision of the Richmond, Virginia's chief of police. If convicted, he would have been sentenced to jail for a maximum of five years. In July, he publicly apologized on YouTube for what he did.

The music industry has never been the savviest when it came to the internet and its possibilities. Suing kids, grandmas and college students left and right. But when the latest, happiest and most popular YouTube video with a Chris Brown song became a hit last week, they profited instead of becoming another lawsuit headline.

Chris Brown Publicly Apologizes for Rihanna Assault

It was Grammy night here in Los Angeles when police responded to an incident between Rihanna and Chris Brown. The saga, full of speculation and controversy, was dragged through media and courts, eventually leaving Brown with five years of probation. In a YouTube video posted today, he apologizes. "I have told Rihanna countless times, and I am telling you today, that I am truly sorry and that I wasn't able to handle the situation both differently and better.. I hope that others learn from my mistake. I intend to live my life so that I am truly worthy of the term 'role model,'" he said. The full video is below.

No Jail Time for Chris Brown, Enters Plea Agreement

A couple hours before today's trial, R&B Singer Chris Brown entered into a plea agreement for pleading guilty to assault while the criminal threats charges were dropped. Under the agreement, Brown will do six months of "community labor" (that's 1400 hours of work), serve five years probation and take a year-long domestic violence prevention class, according to the LA Times. He will also have to stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna except at industry events where it will be set to 10 yards.

Chris Brown Due in Court Today for Arraignment

19-year-old R&B singer Chris Brown will be appearing in court in Los Angeles this afternoon to enter his plea on felony assault charges, according to cbs2.com. The performer stands accused of "assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury and making a criminal threat." The victim is his off-and-on girlfriend Rihanna, who has been keeping her distance from Brown in recent days, despite reports the couple were seen together vacationing and working on a duet a few weeks ago. The couple have been the subject of much scrutiny since the pre-Grammy night events whereupon Brown allegedly attacked Rihanna following a verbal dispute in a parked car. Because the crimes Brown stands accused of are felonies, he must appear in court in person today for arraignment. If convicted, he faces punishment ranging from probation to five years in prison.

Chris Brown Won't Be the Kids' Choice This Year

R&B singer Chris Brown won't get the chance to see if he or his song "Kiss Kiss" was a favorite for the kiddies this year, reports On the Red Carpet. The pop star has just "withdrawn his name from the ballot" for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song for the annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, which are scheduled for March 28th. The nominations were announced prior to Brown's legal battles stemming from charges filed by girlfriend Rhianna alleging criminal threats and domestic violence the day before the Grammys last month. Brown in scheduled to be arraigned on April 6th.

Disturbing & Disgusting: Chris Brown's Search Warrant

The Smoking Gun has posted the full thirteen page search warrant and affidavit from the Chris Brown/Rihanna Case (beware, this is an intense document). Brown was arraigned today in court for two felony counts of assault and criminal threats. If convicted, he could spend up five years in prison or be put on probation. He arrived at the LA Superior Courthouse this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. finding that his case will be continued on April 6. TMZ is broadcasted a live stream of the events from outside the courthouse. UPDATE: "Chris Brown and his attorney Mark Geragos did not enter a plea to the two felony charges. In a proceeding that took roughly 4 minutes and 20 seconds, the judge granted Brown's request to move the arraignment to April 6th," reports TMZ.

Brown and Rihanna: Reunited (And It Feels So Good)

Maybe all headline-making R&B star Chris Brown needed was some face time with girlfriend Rihanna under her beach "Umbrella." It seems the pair are back together now, three weeks after their Grammy no-show, Brown's arrest, and Rihanna's battered mug made news and drove the young lovers apart, according to People magazine. The rag mag relies on unnamed sources to spill the dirt on the duo, who were expected to next meet in court here in LA, and not "at one of Sean 'Diddy' Combs's homes, on Miami Beach's Star Island," where they are reported to be right now. Says the anon source: "While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves." Many had hoped this horrible incident would lead to Rihanna speaking up for herself and on behalf of abused women everywhere, perhaps bringing to light--as Tina Turner did more than a generation ago--that physical abuse in a romantic pairing still happens in the spotlight. It seems this latest chapter only teaches us that love hurts. Ouch.

Anger Management Might Make Chris Brown 'look better'

Monday afternoon, R&B singer Chris Brown was in Glendale. He wasn't shopping at the Americana, mind you, but rather was showing up for his first anger management class. Brown, who turned himself in after allegedly making criminal threats against his girlfriend, Rihanna, is not required to take the class, but his team think it's a good idea, according to the New York Daily News. "Chris doesn't actually have to go by law but he believes it will make him look better to the public, and he wants to try to get in a few classes before [his] March 5[th court date]," a source told the paper. Just how much of the law will affect Brown is not known, but many believe he won't face jail time. He will, however, have to face Rihanna, who is expected to testify against the 19-year-old in court. 'Looking better' is a curious concern for Brown, who certainly didn't do much to improve Rihanna's appearance on the night in question.

Photo of Rihanna Following Her Fight with Chris Brown Leaked to TMZ

Early Thursday evening, TMZ released a leaked photo taken of Rihanna immediately after her altercation with Chris Brown in which he allegedly beat her. From the picture one can see that Rihanna's whole face is extremely swollen with two huge bruises on her forehead, a busted lip and what looks to almost be a broken nose. If reports of the abuse are true, Chris Brown didn't simply get upset, yell at and shove his girlfriend. No, he full on beat the crap out of her, making the beautiful songstress hardly recognizable. Unfortunately, with the degree of the injuries, one can assume this wasn’t the first time something like this had happened.

The man behind the wheels of last night's car chase is unofficially identified as Mustafa "Moe" Mustafa. After shooting himself when SWAT team members surrounded the car, he was transported in very critical condition to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Last night's car chase began shortly before 8 p.m. and was widely suspected to be Chris Brown and then DJ Khaled. The LAPD continued to say throughout the incident the suspect was not a high profile person.
