School's Not Out For Summer for Some Chino Kids Thanks to Admin Error

School's Not Out For Summer for Some Chino Kids Thanks to Admin Error

Fourth, fifth, and sixth graders at Rolling Ridge Elementary in Chino Hills and Dickson Elementary in Chino would probably issue their school district admins a great big ol' F for FAIL if they could. Those hundreds of students don't get to sing "no more pencils, no more books" for 34 more days, thanks to "a clerical error on a spreadsheet" at the Chino Unified School District that led to the miscalculation of mandatory time spent in the classroom, according to the LA Times. more ›

'Freeway Complex' Fire Continues to Burn; Affects 4 Counties

The fire that broke out Saturday in Corona near Green River Road and the 91 Riverside Freeway has now been dubbed the "Freeway Complex" fire or the "Triangle Freeway" fire because of the broad stretch of land in three counties--Riverside (Corona), Orange (Yorba Linda, Anaheim Hills), and San Bernardino (Chino Hills)--in which it is blazing. A fire in nearby Brea is being connected to this fire, and now threatens the neighboring community of Diamond Bar, which would then involve a fourth county, Los Angeles. more ›

Google Trends provides insights into broad search patterns by users on Google. A look into what is being searched nationally this afternoon is obviously the earthquake. However, Google searches across the country are intensely focused on the incident. The majority of top 100 trends ("hot trends") are quake-related. more ›
