Between the hours of 10am and noon on Friday, Linda Bush's 8-year-old Yorkshire terrier and three Yorkie pups were stolen from her home on Poinsettia Drive. When Bush entered her home that morning, she was shocked to find that one of her windows had been smashed.
Truck Crashes Into Swimming Pool in Buena Park
Early this morning, a suspected drunk driver crashed his car through a brick wall and into a ten-foot deep swimming pool in Buena Park, reports KTLA. The home, on the 64,000 block of Dale Street, is being rented by three Cal State Fullerton students, who say they were minding their own business, studying, and getting ready to go to sleep when the accident happened.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputies have announced they made an arrest last night in the fatal stabbing of a 59-year-old North Hollywood man aboard a Red Line subway train in Hollywood.
33-year-old Gene Sim, described by the LASD in a news release as "a transient" was found in Buena Park and taken into custody without incident.

Police in Buena Park raided the Lincoln Day Spa on Thursday, as part of a seven-month-long investigation to determine if the business was a front for prostitution, according to abc7. As a result, "four female suspects were arrested for prostitution and the business owner has been arrested for operating outside the scope of a legitimate business."

Suspect in Model's Murder Found Dead in Canada
After a manhunt lasting several days and crossing the border into his native Canada, investment banker turned VH1 reality television contestant Ryan Alexander Jenkins appears to have committed suicide, according to KTLA. "Officials believe [he] took his own life in the hotel room in Hope, British Columbia where his body was found." Jenkins had been charged this week in Orange County with the murder of his wife and former model Jasmine Fiore, whose finger- and toothless body was discovered crammed in a suitcase abandoned in a Buena Park dumpster last weekend. Jenkins, who filed the missing person report for Fiore, has been on the run since before Fiore was identified by the serial numbers on her breast implants, and escaped to Canada on Wednesday. A warrant for his arrest was issued last week.
Manhunt Continues for Model's Murderer
Reports yesterday out of Toronto indicating that murder suspect Ryan Alexander Jenkins was arrested after arriving to the Canadian city by air turned out to be a miscue after authorities determined the had the wrong man. The search continues across the border for the reality show contestant who is believed to have killed his wife, model and Playboy rep Jasmine Fiore, then left her mutilated body in a suitcase in Buena Park dumpster before reporting her missing and fleeing.
Missing Model ID'd as Woman Stuffed into Suitcase in Buena Park
The body of a woman stuffed into a suitcase found over the weekend was connected to the woman the LAPD Missing Persons unit was searching for today. Police asked the public's help late last night in the search for 28-year-old Jasmine Fiore, a model who had recently moved from Las Vegas to the Fairfax District in Los Angeles to start up a personal training business. She was last seen Friday around 8:30 p.m. at her home on the 800 block of Edinburgh Avenue. On Saturday morning, a homeless person sifting through a trash container in the city of Buena Park on the 7400 block of Franklin Street found a woman described as in her twenties, but police had not identified her until today.

First West Nile Death of '08
The Orange County Health Care Agency has reported the first 2008 death in California resulting from the West Nile virus infection. The victim was a 72-year-old woman from Buena Park. Deanne Thompson, spokesperson for the agency told LAist that Southern California is seeing the biggeset increase in West Nile since 2004 when there were 62 cases in the OC alone. This year, the county has reported 26 cases not including "four asymptomatic dramatic blood donars." As to why there is an increase, officials do not know, but with recent home foreclosures and for other economic reasons, pools are not being used or maintained, therefore the still water is a perfect nesting ground for mosquitoes.
Robbers Flee in Taxi, Victim Follows, Slow Chase Ensues
Here's a humorous one. In Anaheim today, a man pulled over to the side of the road looking at a map was robbed by two men who approached on foot. The robbers indicated they had a gun, stole the driver's possessions including his cell phone and fled on foot, hailing a taxi. With no cell phone, the victim used his On-Star service to call police as he pursued the taxi.
