United States bankruptcy judge Kevin Gross earlier on Friday ordered against Dodgers’ owner Frank McCourt and the $150 million loan he obtained from Highbridge Senior Loan Fund, a hedge fund operation. Instead McCourt will be forced to “deal with the devil” and negotiate with Major League Baseball and Commissioner Bud Selig.

Can MLB Terminate the Dodgers?
The attorneys for Frank McCourt and MLB have agreed that McCourt can use the $150 million loan he obtained to continue to finance the Dodgers. The U.S. bankruptcy court will hold a hearing on July 20 where MLB will seek to replace the hedge fund financing for their own. The loan carried an interest rate of at least 10% with a $4.5 million fee while the MLB loan would only carry an interest rate of 7%.

McCourt's Loan from Fox Rejected By MLB
I’m getting my seat warmed at STAPLES Center last night watching the Kings play in their first home game since Jan. 26, click on Google Reader and look what was there: the L.A. Times’ Bill Shaikin and his report that MLB commissioner Bud Selig rejected Fox’s loan to Dodger owner Frank McCourt.
LAst Night's Action: Bruins Bedeviled
Arizona State Sun Devils defeat UCLA Bruins 74-67. UCLA couldn't get it done down the stretch which allowed the Sun Devils to sweep the season series. The Bruins fell behind by as much as 12 points in the first half before using their defense to tie the game by halftime. While the game was close throughout the second half with the Bruins maintaining a slight lead throughout, the Bruins just collapsed. Alfred Aboya got hit with a technical foul after making contact with the ball before Sun Devil Rihard Kuksiks inbounded the ball with the Bruins down by only two. Arizona State made both free throws and Jeff Pendergraph threw down a dunk to ice the game.
Canceled TV Disco Party Island!
Now of course, it's important to remember that you might get these shows on DVD, and DVD residuals are an issue of debate in the strike, so you might not feel comfortable renting them. If that's the case, I'd recommend watching Clark and Michael on loop. For everyone else, it's Canceled TV Disco Party Island after the jump!
Torre-Watch Over: Joe Torre is Hired
It took a couple of days, but it's official: Joe Torre is the new Dodger manager. The Dodgers and Torre have agreed to a three-year, $12 million contract. Is Bud Selig a Racist or does he Just Hate Baseball?
So Barry Bonds hit his big dinger last night, and we hate him for it. But we're allowed to, we live in LA. The Commissioner of Baseball, however, is not allowed to hate Barry Bonds. At least not publicly. Why? Because the Commish is supposed to be fair and without allegiance. All he is supposed to care about is Baseball's Best Interest. But clearly Bud Selig only has one interest: money. The former used...
Barry Bonds Hits 755 in San Diego
We hate him just like you do, but Barry Bonds just tied Hank Aaron's career home run record of 755. Bonds went opposite field off a hanging curve from San Diego Padres pitcher Clay Hensley. The game in currently still on at blogtime, which is 9:10pm. If you have cable or satellite and can get ESPN2, the game is tied, 2-2 in the 6th down there at Petco Park. Bonds is still in the...
LAst Night's Action: Not-So-Welcome To LA
Giants 3, Dodgers 1 - Barry Bonds surprisingly was all smiles despite a bitter reception at Chavez Ravine. While he didn't tie Hammerin' Hank for the career home run title, he did reach base on two walks and scored a run. Brad Penny allowed all three runs in six innings for just his second loss of the year. Baseball royalty on hand included Tommy Lasorda, Bud Selig, and Alyssa Milano. Wait, did we just write...
LAst Night's Action: Honoring His Old Hokies
Angels 8, Mariners 4 - Virginia Tech means a lot to Joe Saunders. His uncle went there. His dad went there. His mom went there. He went there. Drafted by Anaheim in 2002, he is the only Hokie alum in pro baseball. Under the circumstances, Commissioner Bud Selig allowed him to wear his college cap for Friday's game. In his first start since the tragedy at his alma mater he pitched six scoreless innings. His...
Garret Anderson is a Baseball Player, Not a Racist
I’ve been thinking about the blog Tony Pierce posted a few days ago which was titled “Garret Anderson Doesn’t Care About Black People,” and although I didn’t initially want to respond to it, I feel that it’s necessary for me to do so. Let me start out by saying that I’ve received a handful comments on my posts that have basically implied that I don’t know what I’m talking about when I’ve expressed my opinions on the Angels, and I don’t respond to them for two reasons. The first is that I don’t see the point in getting into a pissing contest with people I’ve never even met before. The second reason I don’t respond is because I respect a person’s right to their opinion, and even if I don’t agree with them, I don’t think it’s my job to slam them for expressing it. With all that being said, I absolutely respect Tony’s opinion and he has a right to it, but when somebody writes what he wrote about a guy who I feel didn’t deserve to get thrown under a bus, I’ve gotta respond to it.
