Houston Rockets defeat LA Lakers 100-92. Well that didn't go as planned did it? The Lakers were outplayed by the Rockets from tip off and never seemed to wake up. With Houston getting battered with Shane Battier getting stitches on his forehead thanks to Sasha Vujacic in the first quarter and Yao Ming going down after bumping knees with Kobe Bryant in the fourth, they kept with their game plan making the Lakers uncomfortable. The Lakers helped out taking awful shots going 2-for-18 from three-point land. Lamar Odom played pretty well but never seemed to have the ball scoring nine points with five rebounds. Kobe Bryant scored 32 points on 14-for-31 shooting. I wasn't counting on this one being the game the Lakers lost when I predicted the Lakers to win by five. Hopefully there will be no repeat of this game.

With so much going on in the world of sports right now with the Olympics, baseball, USC injuries and all, here's a list of things to keep an eye on.

Fox Sports is reporting the Green Bay Packers have just traded Brett Favre to the New York Jets. This should be very interesting.

St. Louis Cardinals defeat LA Dodgers 6-4 (11 innings). ANDRUW JONES HIT A HOME RUN! He got things going in the top of the ninth with the Dodgers down 4-0 on the second pitch thrown by Cardinals reliever Ron Villone and took it over the left center bullpen. Closer Jason Isringhausen immediately came into the game, and Isringhausen was being Isringhausen by blowing the save and allowing the Dodgers to tie the game 4-4. Manny Ramirez was 2-for-3 with two walks scoring once. But Ryan Ludwick showed why he was NL Player of the Week for last week by hitting a shot straight to center for the walk-off homer. The game was twice interrupted by rain delays.

LA Angels defeat Baltimore Orioles 6-5. The Angels led the game 5-1 with two outs in the top of the ninth. What happens? Oh Francisco Rodriguez just blew the save (with help from a Mark Teix-error) to tie the game up 5-5. But the Angels came back in the bottom of the ninth with the bases loaded. Oriole's closer George Sherrill walked Chone Figgins with the walk off walk. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. The Angels are the first team in the majors to 70 wins.

LA Angels defeat NY Yankees 12-6. The Angels continue to roll. This time they used three Earl Weavers hit by Torii Hunter, Juan Rivera and Vladimir Guerrero to put the beating on the Yanks. Jon Garland had a good outing for the Angels going six plus innings giving up three runs on seven hits. While Darren O’Day made the game more interesting than it needed to giving up three runs in the ninth, Jose Arredondo got things back under control getting the last three batters out.

Minnesota Twins' Justin Morneau defeats Texas Rangers' Josh Hamilton. This year's edition was supposed to be a snooze fest. No A-Rod. No Big Papi. No Vlad. No Junior. No Bonds. Just a bunch of youngsters named Braun, Morneau, Utley, Berkman, Uggla, Sizemore, Longoria and Hamilton. But boy was this a doozy.

LA Dodgers defeat Florida Marlins 9-1. Marlins starter Andrew Miller looked absolutely horrible. He went 1 2/3 innings and gave up seven earned runs on five hits and five walks which could have been worse if reliever Mark Hendrickson (remember him?) didn't get the final out in the second inning with the bases loaded. Meanwhile Chad Billingsley went seven innings notching a season-high 13 strike outs while giving up only one run on five hits. With closer Takashi Saito out indefinitely after coming out of the game Saturday night with a tingly feeling in his arm, it was a relief for the Dodgers not to have to address that in this game. The Dodgers go into the All Star break one game back in the NL West and three games under .500.

LA Dodgers defeat Atlanta Braves 3-0. It was Mark Teixeira's double to lead off the eighth inning that broke up Hiroki Kuroda's perfect game. And it was that double that was the only blemish of Kuroda's game who pitched the entire game striking out six, walking none while throwing only 91 pitches in 2:03. Offensively, Blake DeWitt went 3-3 while Nomar Garciaparra smashed a hanging curve to the Dodger bullpen in the fifth inning to drive in James Loney. With the win, the Dodgers reach one game under .500 and are now tied with the Diamondbacks for first place in the NL West.

LA Dodgers defeat Houston Astros 4-1. They did it with pitching, defense, a squeeze play, power and the bullpen. Whodathunkit? Starter Hiroki Kuroda went seven scoreless innings in his first outing since coming off the disabled list, Luis Maza squeezed in a run in the fourth and Andre Ethier hit a solo shot in the fifth. Meanwhile the Dodgers sent start Clayton Kershaw back down to AA Jacksonville to make room for Kuroda. Hopefully he'll improve on his command. Also word has it the Nomar Garciaparra will be back soon to play shortstop. Though the funniest sentence according to the Dodgers.com piece says, "Garciaparra did not field any balls at short, but he did dive for a couple balls that went up the middle for singles."

LA Lakers defeat Dallas Mavericks 112-108. The Lakers broke Lawler's Law by defeating the Mavericks even though the Mavericks got to 100 points first. Lamar Odom has a season high 31 points while Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol got 25 points each. The Lakers join the New Orleans Hornets as the only two teams in the Western Conference to clinch a playoff spot. With six games left to go, their only tough games are at home against the Hornets on the 11th and the San Antonio Spurs on the 13th.

Clippers 116, Kings 109, 2OT - Down by 17 points, it looked like Los Angeles was about to give Sacramento their first win this year against a Pacific rival. Anybody seen Sam Cassell. Two overtimes later, the Clips pulled off a wild victory and send the Kings to 0-9 in the division. LA led the entire second overtime. Al Thornton led the game with 27, Chris Kaman had 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Dan Dickau scored a season high 20.
