Recently we've been ranting about sports figures who have taken unnecessary swipes at the blogosphere (see Kornheiser, Tony and Cuban, Mark). Today, we half-heartedly enshrine Bob Costas on our list o' luddites -- not because of his attack, but because of his apology (in a different way than the self-condemning explanations of Kornheiser and Cuban). Just to be clear, we still love Bob Costas with all of our heart. Seriously, the man is an icon.......

Every morning at 6am we will be posting a video of someone singing or playing the "Star Spangled Banner". Back in the day television stations would end their "broadcast day" with an instrumental of the National Anthem accompanied by images of dandelions blowing in the wind, of flags being held by children, and olde fashioned barbers using leeches on alleged witches. When the song was over, the screen would flicker and a test pattern......

Handpicked by the legendary Red Barber, Vinny has been the poetic play-by-play man for the Blue Crew for 57 years, which is the longest tenure of a sports announcer with one team Ever. As you may have heard by now, the NFL is shaking up Monday Night Football. Gone after 35 years is Monday Night Football on ABC. Coming in is MNF on ESPN and NBC is taking over Sunday Night Football. ESPN or no ESPN, Monday Night Football is dead. ESPN may have two revenue streams, allowing it to pay $1.1 billion, but it's going to seem no different from a Thursday night or any other......
